The Godavari Yaatra had a clear purpose - to understand, gather knowledge and educate people about the river. The mission was to reconnect society with Godavari and respect her, by finding like-minded individuals and appointing them as "Godavari Prahari". The focus was on connecting with the younger studying in various schools, colleges and universities en route.

( अविरल निर्मल गोदावरी साक्षरता यात्रा )Aviral and Nirmal Godavari Literacy Journey was planned From Brahmagiri to Rajahmundry 2020 ,and its Aim was to reconnect people's severed ties with Godavari, not only worship godavari but to worship godavari as one family and to declare Godavari as a national river. But to declare godavari national river ,Godavari needs to flow continuously, purely, and independently. Under the guidance of Dr. Rajendra Singh, the aviral and Nirmal Godavari Literacy Journey (अविरल निर्मल गोदावरी साक्षरता यात्रा)  was organized. Involving all the elements of society, on 04/02/2020, the journey was inaugurated at the origin of the Godavari River at Brahmagiri, Trimbakeshwar. The journey concluded on 22/04/2020 at Rajahmundry in Andhra Pradesh, where the Godavari meets the sea.
