My Water Bank
- Ongoing Project
My Water Bank is an ambitious and visionary project by Namami Goda. My Water Bank is nothing but individual rainwater harvesting systems which don't require a lot of space and are also cost-effective. Rainwater harvesting increases the availability of water during dry seasons by raising the levels of dried borewells and wells. Surface water supply is readily available for various purposes, thus reducing dependence on underground water. It improves the quality of groundwater by diluting salinity. It does not cause pollution and is environmentally friendly. It is cost-effective and easily affordable. It also helps in the availability of potable water, as rainwater is substantially free of salinity and other salts. This can help reduce the risk of flooding. By capturing and storing rainwater, less water runs off the surface and enters the drainage system, which can reduce the likelihood of flash flooding during heavy rainfall.
